The Kampala and Jinja tour is a perfect blend of urban exploration and adventure, where two destinations display Uganda’s unique balance of history, culture, and outdoor excitement. The city is alive with energy, stories, and a spirit that reflects both modern progress and ancient tradition.

The journey from Kampala to Jinja takes you east along a lively highway, gradually transitioning from urban bustle to scenic countryside.

A highlight along the way is passing through the lush Mabira Forest, a vast tropical rainforest known for its dense greenery, birdlife, and occasional glimpses of monkeys.

As you continue, the road is lined with roadside markets, sugarcane plantations, and small towns before reaching Jinja, a calm riverside destination.

The journey culminates at the Source of the Nile, where the iconic Nile River begins its remarkable journey northward.

DAY-1 PICK UP FROM THE AIRPORT

Our professional guide will pick you up at Entebbe International Airport as you enjoy a comfortable scenic journey to the hotel. Take a rest as you prepare for the next day’s activity.

DAY-2 CITY TOUR AND BACK TO THE HOTEL

Kampala is Uganda’s capital and largest city, sitting beautifully on rolling hills near the Northern shores of Lake Victoria.

It is the country’s economic, political, and cultural center, a city that captures Uganda’s diversity in one place.

With its welcoming people, busy streets, and colorful markets, Kampala provides a fascinating glimpse into daily Ugandan life, religion, and culture. Some of the sites to visit include Kisubi, Namugongo, Bahai, Gadhafi Mosque, Lubiri, and Kabaka’s Lake.

Namugongo Martyrs

This is a place of both historical and religious significance, standing as a testament to the faith and sacrifice of the Uganda Martyrs. It also marks the site where 22 Catholic and 23 Anglican converts were burnt alive in the late 19th century for refusing to renounce their newfound Christian faith, as ordered by Kabaka Mwanga II.

The Kisubi Tomb

This site is a major spiritual centre for the Baganda, where traditional and cultural practices are preserved.

The Kasubi Tombs are the most active religious place in the kingdom, where rituals are frequently performed, and a burial ground for the previous four kings (Kabakas).

It is a religious centre for the royal family, a place where the Kabaka and his representatives carry out important rituals related to Buganda culture. The site represents a place where communication links with the spiritual world.

Bahai Temple

Located on Kikaya Hill, the Baháí Temple, the only one of its kind in Africa, is a masterpiece of architecture surrounded by tranquil gardens. The temple offers a serene environment for meditation and reflection, away from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Gaddafi National Mosque (Old Kampala Mosque)

Perched at top of Old Kampala Hill, the Gaddafi Mosque is one of the most stunning landmarks in the city as the largest mosque in Africa, accommodating over 15,000 worshippers.

Lubiri Mengo

A visit to Kabaka’s Palace, Mengo, an impressive symbol of Buganda’s monarchy, tells tales of leadership, colonial relations, and Uganda’s turbulent political past. A chamber offers a sobering but insightful look into Uganda’s dark days of dictatorship.

Kabaka’s Lake

This historical lake, hidden amidst the urban rhythm of Uganda’s capital, is more than just a body of water.it is a living testament to the Buganda Kingdom’s heritage, an engineering marvel from the 19th century, and a peaceful escape into local traditions and royal legacy.

The lake is located in the Ndeeba area, just 5 kilometers from the city center. Kabaka’s Lake is the largest man-made lake in Uganda, built entirely by hand.

DAY 3-Travel to Jinja ,Mabira forest ,source of the Nile and back to Kampala.

This adventure takes you east to Jinja, located about 80 kilometers from the capital. The scenic journey offers views of green countryside, small trading centers, and sugarcane plantations stretching across the horizon, not leaving out Mabira Forest, one of Uganda’s largest tropical rainforests, a perfect stop for a canopy zipline before continuing to Jinja.

This charming town blends colonial history with modern adventure activities, making it a must-visit for thrill-seekers and nature lovers.

The cool breeze from Lake Victoria, lush landscapes, and laid-back atmosphere make Jinja a refreshing contrast to Kampala’s urban energy.

Source of the Nile

The most iconic site in Jinja is the Source of the Nile, discovered by British explorer John Speke in 1858. Here, you can take a boat ride to the exact spot where the Nile starts its 6,650 km journey northward.

The site features beautiful gardens, monuments, and souvenir shops. It is a peaceful and scenic place perfect for photography and reflection. It is about conquering one of nature’s greatest forces.

After the activities, we proceed back to Kampala

Day 4 -Day 7: Visits to the offices around Kampala

From Day 4 to Day 7, you will focus on scheduled office visits across Kampala.

Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

You will check out after breakfast, followed by a scheduled airport transfer for departure.
